Organic certified algae from controlled organic farming (organic farming) DE-ÖKO-003 - from sustainably managed North Atlantic algae areas, dried and gently broken into particles, coating agent: hydroxypropylmethycellulose
Ascophyllum nodosum The Knotentang is a seaweed or a brown alga, which is widespread, especially in the North Atlantic to Arctic zones, u.a. but also in the North and Baltic Seas as well as in subtropical areas. It is used for the production of alginic acid (alginate), which is widely used. In the algae itself, algin is the structural element of the cell walls. In the food industry, the recovery of algin from the knot trough is a by-product of extracting iodine from sea algae. The salts of alginic acid are called alginates. They are used in foods, e.g. used as thickening and gelling agent. However, alginates are also extracted for use in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
Brown algae naturally contains iodine. We are therefore obliged to specify the iodine content of the algae. Please note the information on the label. Not everyone likes the characteristic taste of algae, which is why it is recommended to take the carefully dried and crushed algae in capsule form.
Since brown algae can be polluted by the pollution of the oceans, we only use certified organic brown algae for the production of our algae capsules.
The capsule shell is also of vegan origin. The product is also suitable for raw food.
